U-8   (Born after Jan 1, 2009)   U-12 (Born after Jan 1, 2005)   U-16 (Born after Jan 1, 2001)

U-10 (Born after Jan 1, 2007)   U-14 (Born after Jan 1, 2003)   U-18 (Born after Jan 1, 1999)

Schedule: 10am - 4pm

Registration: 10:00 am - 10:30 am

Rounds 1-2: 10:30 am - 12:30PM 

Lunch: 12:30 pm - 1PM (CJCC will provide pizza)

Rounds 3-5: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Tie-breaks (if necessary) and awards: immediately after the completion of the last round

Format: The exact format of each section will depend on the number of participants but players should expect to play 5 games.

Time control: Game in 20 minutes with a 5-second increment.

Entry fee: $20 if pre-registered online by 6 pm, Friday, January 27th, $25 afterwards and on site.

Prizes in each section

1st place: Free entry to the 2017 AB Youth Championship (held on Feb 20-21 in Calgary)   $100 of professional chess coaching   1st place trophy.

2nd place: Free entry to the 2017 AB Youth Championship   2nd place trophy.

3rd place: 3rd place trophy.

4th-5th places: medals.

All the other participants will receive chess pieces.

Byes: In case you cannot be there all the time you can request advanced half point byes. Up to two 1/2-point byes

will be allowed and not for the 5th round. For more information about byes contact tournament organizer.
