This is a Canadian Youth Chess Championship Qualifier (July 6-10, 2025 in Ottawa, ON ). Players who earn half of their total points (e.g. 2.5 in 5 rounds) will qualify for the event. More info can be found at the link below:

Restrictions:
- Only players who have solid knowledge of the chess rules should register. Note: two illegal moves will lead to loss of a game. The FIDE Laws of Chess can be found here: https://handbook.fide.com/chapter/E012023

Format:
- CFC rated. 5 round Swiss, Game in 90 minutes 30 seconds/move.
- FIDE Rated for U-10 and above

1st place: free entry to 2025 AYCC in corresponding section, 1st place trophy.
2nd place: free entry to 2025 AYCC in corresponding section, 2nd place trophy.
3rd place: 3rd place trophy.
Top girl in each section: free entry in corresponding section to 2025 AYCC and a trophy
*AYCC Entry prizes only available to Albertans but out of province players allowed to compete
