After three years of waiting, we are finally bringing back the Chess School program from online to live. This event will consist of one hour of instruction 3 games.

Instruction Section: Players choose in the following sections for instruction according to their ability.

�  Level 1 – Beginner (CFC < 500)

�  Level 2 – Intermediate (CFC < 1000)

�  Level 3 – Open (CFC > 1000)

Tournament section: Head TD will have 4 players with similar ratings grouped in each section.

�  Quad system. Players will be divided into groups of 4 by rating and play a total of 3 games. A round robin tournament will be played within each section. 

�  Best effort will be made to have 4 players with similar ratings grouped in each section.

�  The final section assignment is determined by the Head TD based on the higher of regular and active ratings. Check your CFC rating at the link:  https://www.chess.ca/en/ratings/

Registration Cap: 16 for each section. 

The registration will be closed as soon as the cap is reached OR by 10:00 PM on September 16th, whichever comes sooner.

Time Control:  20min 5sec incremental

Prizes: The 1st and 2nd places in each quad will receive medals.

All other participants will receive colorful chess keychains. 

Fees:  Annual Membership $10. Event Fee $15.

Discount: $3 sibling discount and $7 discount for bringing a friend who is new to the club.
