Sections: All players must be born after January 1, 2006: Open, Girls, Under 1800, Under 1200. (Canadian Seniors held alongside Junior events).

Prizes: Open/Girls First place receive a trip to 2026 World Junior Championship in Peru. Up to $1200 in airfare provided, meals and accommodation provided by Peru organizers.
All sections, 1st-3rd trophies.
Ratings: Open/Girls/Under 1800 FIDE/CFC rated, Under 1200 CFC rated only. Rating used to determine category and for pairing purposes will be CFC regular rating. Players who played less than 5 CFC regular rated games will have their CFC quick rating used to determine rating if they played 25 rated quick games or more. Unrated players may only enter Open/Under 1800 sections, unless given special permission by the organizers to enter the under 1200 section.
Live broadcast: Select number of games in the Jr. Open/ Girls/ Seniors sections will be broadcast live on www.lichess.org A link will be provided before the start of the 1st round.
Entry fees and registration: $160 until June 26, 8pm. $200, until 9 am June 27. All are subject to space availability.
Registration is taken on this website only! Players will be automatically placed into their respective section. Girls are eligible to play in their respective rating section or in the "girls championship." Boys under 1800 will be placed into their respective section.

Accommodation: Special rate of $179 plus tax for double queen or king rooms and $309 for suite. Rooms include breakfast.

Refunds: Entry less $20 for Admin until June 1st. Entry less $60 fee until June 26th, 8 pm. No refunds afterwards.
Byes: Up to two half point byes are allowed for rounds 1-6. Must be requested two rounds in advance, for round 1-2 before tournament starts, for round 3 before round 2 pairings are done etc... To request a bye contact the arbiter by email with specific round requests.
Forfeit time: 30 minutes after the start of the round.

Appeals: Each protest must be accompanied by a deposit fee of one hundred $100 dollars within 1 hour of the completion of the game in question. If the protest is upheld, the fee will be refunded; if rejected, the fee will be forfeited to the Organizer. The Appeals Committee may decide on: a) An appeal against an arbiter's decision, b) A protest regarding a player's behavior, c) Other matters the Committee deems relevant. No appeals will be accepted against pairings generated by FIDE-certified tournament management software. The written decision of the Appeals Committee is final.
Fair Play: Players may not have any electronic devices on them. Those include but are not limited to: mobile phones, electronic watches, airpods, etc... The penalty for finding such a device on a player will be immediate forfeit. Non-electronic wristwatches cannot be worn as well (with a less severe penalty). A player may request an arbiter's permission to have a device on them, typically this will involve a medical device. Such requests need to be made prior to the event.
A player can bring a bag or use the one provided by the organizing committee to store prohibited devices. Such devices must be completely turned off!
Recording of the moves: Players in all sections must record the entire game as legibly as possible. Inexperienced players may ask for a recording cheat sheet. All scoresheets are provided and are the property of the organizers. Players will receive a carbon copy of their scoresheet.
Supervision between rounds: The organizing committee is not responsible for supervising players between rounds.
Spectators: Due to limited space spectators will not be allowed during rounds. In a few designated rounds spectators will be allowed for the first few minutes to allow them to take pictures. Players who finished their games are considered spectators and may not return to the playing venue.
Leaving the playing area: Players will typically not be allowed to leave the playing area during play (the washrooms can be accessed within playing area). Exceptions will be granted with permission of the arbiter and any player leaving must be accompanied by an arbiter at all times.
